Subject: 340/360 heads on a 318

I am in the process of finding a good intake manifold for my 91 dakota with a 318 tbi in it and I found this really nice setup from edelbrock but it says on their site that you need 340/360 heads on your 318 in order for this manifold to bolt correctly, so my question is do 340/360 heads bolt onto a 318
Here is the link if you want to look at this setup to help me out a bit more

As for 318-340 heads the best one are the x-heads if you really want to boost your compression then look into the 273 closed chamber heads.273-318-340-360 heads will all interchange with another this is for Pre MAGNUM motors .

if your happy with the heads you have now, save yourself some time and money, have these heads port matched to the intake.this works well for the street, plus you,ll keep good bottom end torque.

the x or j heads work best for upper RPM and motors with more compression.

heres a few sights to check out-www.geocities.com

360 heads will work but you will lose compression but you could have them machined to bring back some of that lost compression but i agree with vern have the heads you have now port matched. Also do you know what casting you have if you have 302's keep them and use them instead they probably the best flowing heads for the 318 and 360
