Subject: Questions about KRC218 cams...

OK, I've got lot's of questions about the KRC218 cams for the 4.7...
What do I need to make them run?
I'll be adding either the HO manifold, or maybe the Hughes engine manifold, to match the cams' rpm range.
I imagine I should switch from my 3.92s to 4.56 gears... What about a higher stall converter? (by the way, does anyone know what the factory stall is?)
I need to be able to pass emissions testing... will I still be able too? I know that the KRC206 cams are emissions legal... does anyone know if the 218s are?
Also, the truck is my daily driver, I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of drivability... will these cams be too much for the street? Should I just go with the KRC206s?
Lastly, the KRC website says that peak power will be around 6800 rpm and peak torque around 4400... obviously I won't be able to take full advantage of the cams until I can get a new computer, but will I still run fine with the stock PCM for now?
Oh, one more thing... will these cams have a nice lopey sound to them at idle? :)

Here are the 218s specs:
Intake 218/.502
Exhaust 218/.463
Lobe Seperation 112 degrees

Sorry about the long post, I just want to make sure that I know what I'm getting into...

Thanks!

I have the 206 cams and the truck pulls better in the higher rpms. I still have my stock PCM though which is limiting the potential. I didnt want to go all out and get the 218's because my Dak is still my daily driver and I didnt want to loose too much low end.
From what I hear about the 218s is that you would almost definately need a PCM flash and a Higher stall to take full advantage of the higher power band. Id hold off on the manifold though. And yes even with the 206's the truck has a mild lope at idle. Would probably be even rougher of an idle with the 218's.

Thanks kicker, so the 206s have a nice lopey sounding idle? I will get a PCM flash eventually whether I go with the 206s or the 218s, but I just want to make sure than my truck will still run fine while I have the new cams but no PCM upgrade... Why would you say to hold off on the manifold? Did you keep the stock manifold?

I kept the stock manifold in hopes that a modified manifold would be released soon. I also didnt want to move my peak power too far into the higher rpms.
