Subject: Firing Order 3.9?
IP: Logged

Message:
Does anyone know the firing order for a 2001 3.9?
Also, I drove about 3 miles with plug wires in the wrong order, would this have damaged the new spark plugs I've just installed?

Thanks...

Just like what IntenseDak39 said but if it helps I just tuned up my truck and labeled each one with masking tape. Heres what I got looking at the top of the cap and this means with the plastic nob sticking out on the left top at a 45 degree angle from the coil plug. Okay from the left side over and I will start with the first one above the left phillips screw and go around in a circe. 5, 2, 6, 3, 1, 4 (is to the bottom of the left screw). I have a 2000 3.9. Just remember to label each plug when you take it off. The way I did this firing order maybe different from others. I looked at the intake and it was, "1-6-5-4-3-2". Looking from the radiator. Again this maybe the wrong way to do the firing order but this should tell you what you did wrong.

From the opening of the hood.... Hope this helps.

Always use brass contacts, lasts longer than the cheap aluminum.
