Ok,

I'm jsut starting out to learn how to be a home-mechanic...i read all this about needing the right gap setting for my 3923's...so i bought them, and a little silver circle thing called a gap gauge. my question is...how and where on the plug do i gap?? you can stop laughing now, i'm serious...please help.

ahahahahahahahahaha...oh, sorry. u told me to stop. slide the "silver circle thing" under the little "hook" on the end. between that thing that looks like pencil lead. then slide the plug around the "circle thing until it(the "hook") lines up with the number you need. you know, like a ruler.

Don't laugh. When I tuned up my stepbrothers V6 Ram, he asked me which way the plugs went into the engine... He's 25.

If not already at the right gap, there are some hooks on that circle you can grasp the electrode with to gently bend it til you get the proper gap. Good luck.

dont be embarrassed, you learn by asking questions...that and making mistakes, which is usually more fun anyway lol..i personally prefer the gap gauge that you ahve thats a circle..easier to use for me. find the emissions tag under the hood, itll tell you the gap...just dont over-torque them into the heads or youll be in a world of hurt when you go to change them next time. and use the dialetic grease they sell by the parts counter too..i learned that one the hard way...good luck!
