MSNBC Staff & Reporters
R/T owners storm “Mopar Now” magazines head office in protest.
Seems the Dakota 4.7 VS 5.9 Road Test published in this month’s issue was clearly a hoax from the beginning to boost sales of the 4.7 based Dakotas.
Steve Trick editor of “Mopar Now” magazine has pleaded guilty of fraud and accepting cash payments with the intent on deceiving the public.
Steve was quoted as saying, “I new all along the R/T was a quicker and downright nastier truck on the street, but pressure from Dodge Corp. was just too intense”
An R/T owner was overheard saying, “Justice has prevailed and once again we have claimed ownership of the streets”
A spokesperson from Dodge Corp. has so far refused to return our calls.

Bull S.... well you know what I am saying...
I bet if you look at the 60' times the 4.7 did much better, it wouldn't of had the torque to really spin them off the line and I bet the R/T sure did.. I have a 4.7 and love it but automatic to automatic, the R/T is going to be faster... as long as there is traction...

How would the 4.7 have better 60' times? The R/T has 3.92's plus more torque off the line. If the both have slicks stock for stock the R/T will win off the line everytime.
I guess this is gonna be another 4.7-R/T war haha.

4.7+auto vs. R/T==R/T Wins.
4.7+manual vs. R/T==Too close to call. Individual trucks vary more than the combos differ.
Lets just leave it at that.

OK so what has the better 60 foot time stock? I never saw any test times in the magazine but I got a 2.001 on the stock goodyear rsa in my o2 r/t. my truck is all stock exept for removing the snorkel to the filter box.
How about the rest of you. 4.7 and 5.9s stock trim or close to it please

The 60 ft has nothing to do with power on street tires. It is totally up to traction and that means good tires and a damn good driver. The r/t will spank a standard 4.7 everytime. Unless it i one of the slowest r/ts vs one of the fastest 4.7s stock for stock. The weight/power difference is just not gonna be made up by the standard trans.

I've beaten a few stock R/T's in my time, but if they have my same mods, they beat me most every time. It really does depend on the driver more so than the trucks capabilities.
