Subject: Oil Leak! Help!!!
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a '99 R/T with 18K miles. I have changed the intake to the M1 and I have changed the throttle body. At the end of last year I had a shift kit and and torque converter installed. I now have a small leak that seems to be comming from where the motor connects to the trans. I am guessing that the rear-main seal is leaking. My question is that I still have the extended warrenty on my truck. Will they fix the oil leak since it has nothing to do with what I have changed? And if not do any of you have any idea how much $$$ I am looking at if its not covered?

Thanks in advance!!!
Eric

Is there still problems sealing the M1 to the block in the rear? I would take a flashlight and try to see if this is where your leak is coming from. I remember peole dimpling the intake and block, using RTV's, etc to get this to seal properly...

Thanks Chris, I will check that out.

Do any of you think that if it is leaking from somewhere else they will cover it, even with the intake and TB?

Rememebr teh dealer has to prove that the mods you did will void the warranty on the faulty part... You do not have to prove that it did not cause it they have to prove it did... But you could always swap back for the trip to the dealer... this way they do not replace your performace itmes eitehr...
