What RPM does the engine idle at with a performance cam installed on a 5.2L? The only engine mods I have done is the spark plugs to 3923's, 180 degree therm, and an AirRaid intake.

I'm looking at boosting low end tq mostly. Would it be better just to change out the rockers to 1.7's?

If you are just looking for lw end trq, get the 1.7 rr's. Heck of a lot easier to do than a cam swap. The 1.7 rr's and headers really wakes up the bottom end. The desktop dyno estimates about 350 lbs/ft of torque with the above, intake and catback. And I don't doubt it! I have the bald tires to prove it!!

The 5.2L cam is a little more aggressive than a 5.9L-- throwing 1.7s on there will definately wake it up, especially with headers...

The 5.2's will respond to the rocker swap very well. If you are thinking about a cam swap I just installed the KRC 206X in my 97 5.2L. It idles at 700-750 with just a slight amount of lope. Pulls good vaccumn and the A/C does not affect the idle quality at all. It pulls like crazy all the way to the rpm limit and the tailpipe sound is music to my ears!

So far, no problems, took the PCM a few cycles to adjust. at first it ran a bit rich but now it seems to be just about right according to the "butt dyno".
I have the M-1, M/P headers, ported stock heads and Ford 19lb injectors. Cam was installed 4 degrees advanced. Sounds almost like my 340 Cuda that has a 270 Comp Cams Hydraulic.

If my dak sounds like a cuda, I will die with a smile on my face.
I've ordered the KRC 210 for my 360, along with ceramic JBAs, an M1 and 52mm fastman TB with 19 lb. FMS injectors. I'm going to wait til later on 1.7s-the rebuild and all the little parts necessary are taking a lot of $$$.
Here's how it looks so far:

97 3.9 CC Sport. JBA stainless headers, Borla Turbo XL stainless muffler & tip, 17 x10 Boyd Coddington Smoothies, FMS injectors, V8 TB, Quick D intake, Have, but not installed: 5.9 litre 360, posi and 3.92s, M1, 52mm billet TB, ceramic JBAs. , KRC cam, mopar perf valve covers & air cleaner

would the 1.6 or 1.7 rr respond well on a 91 318 TBI setup? I have thought about doing a cam change but if i do i have to replace all the valve springs at the same time b/c of the cam i want to go with and that i know will work. Also if anybody knows where i could get a set of 1.7 shaft mounted rr that would be great. I have found 1.6 from comp cams
What kind of gains/loses would i see if i went with the 1.6 or 1.7 rr. hp tq mpg etc
Thanks
