Subject: Taylor Spiro & 3923's, OK combo for RT?
IP: Logged

Message:
Is this an OK combo to use on for a decent upgrade on lightly modded truck (99 RT CC, MOPAR PCM, home-brew intake, cat back duals)? Are these part #s correct?

Taylor Spiro-Pro 8mm - 74276(red) 74676(blue)
Autolite 3923's - part #?, set to .40
Borg warner cap and rotor - part #'s

Are the wires a direct fit or do they need some adjusting and/or and adapter of some kind (i.e. new looms, etc.)?

They should be fine - a common "upgrade", although it is doubtful if you will notice any performance improvement unless your current plugs/wires are bad. When I installed 3923s in my R/T with about 3000 miles on it I saw a slightly better idle and it MAY have been a bit smoother accelerating....but not much. The money would be better spent on saving for a FIPK or other intake - these will give a noticeable and documented performance improvement. Change plugs every year....anyway.

I use MSD 8.5 wires - pre-cut and better than the three-year-old stock wires, which had begun to begrade.

i have taylor spiro's (red) and champion plugs. youre not going to notice any earth shattering gains, but price-wise its worth it. also, its a pretty decent place to start if you plan on adding msd or anything like that. stay away from the expensive bosch p+4 or splitfire plugs, man, the cheaper autolites work wayyy better than the bosch's, at least for me. good luck!
