Cycle the ignition key On-Off-On-Off-On within 5 seconds.
this doesn't work with 98 and some 99's you may have to go to AutoZone they will do it for free

not sure but try with key off hold trip reset in then turn ignition on dont start hold for ten seconds or so till check comes up in display
