99 R/T I have no idea why Dodge put drums and a casette player in a 99 truck but what can you do....Upgrade. I know there are expensive conversion kits like SS Brakes but isn't there a cheaper why. What donor trucks or new parts from a later model will work? Anybody done it??? How much did it set U back?

They just started putting 4 wheel discs on the 03 Dakota. You can get everything you need from your local dealer but I don't have any idea how much.

I think your $$$$ would be more wisely spent installing a set of bigger front rotors and calipers. I bet they do 75% of the stoping.
rear discs just look cool. probly lighter too.

the rear disc kit makes a huge difference... Your front pads will last 50% longer and it stops much better. Well worth the $$$... if you want to make a cool kit find some viper rotors and calipers, that will make the biggest difference.

Man that rear disc conversion is 750.00!!!!!!!
I'd have to eat balognay and cherios for 5 months.
You guys think the rear discs help that much?
Maybe somone can verify the stoping distances from magazine articles. Its been my experience that properly adjusted drums do cause not nose dive. while on the subject of brakes anybody have the ABS activate in a panic stop? I have and I think it sucks. almost felt like it increased the stoping distance.

The kit is worth every cent.

My install pics are @ www.pbase.com/wiz473

Very impressed with it. Check out all of my posts through the search and see why I made the switch and why I love them so.

Z-Tube, R/T Rims, SSB Rear Disc Conversion, Alpine Head-Unit, Infinity Kappa Speakers, SilverStar Headlights, HO Cams & Intake installed.

Got H.O. ?
