does anyone happen to know the size of the throttle body neck flange for a round air cleaner element?
I'm thinking its 5 1/8. But anyone that has done this before may be able to help me out.

I don't know the size but I put the Edelbrock 10" round breather on mine. If you can find out what diameter the opening on it is you got your answer.

I obviously have the same year and motor that you do,
And my TB is 3and 1/8" or so I.D. O.D. is about 3and 1/2".
