folks, I just got my 03 4.7 5spd 3.55 LSD dakota and its a beauty. im not looking to screw around with it too much, basically so i dont void the 7 year warranty, but im looking at getting a flowmaster 50 series. can i just buy the part and put it on or am i going to need to open the intake and exhaust too? id like more performance but would settle for more sound so i can hear the damn thing when im in the truck. thanks

IMO don't get a Flowmaster. get a Spintech. My roommate has a Spintech 34XX series on his 4.7 4x4 and it sounds great. Can actually hear it running, and has a nice deep rumble to it at idle.

I have the Flow 50 series, sounds Sweeeeet. and you will not have to do anything to the intake, etc.. muffler will help the motor breath better. sounds cool too.

steve i actually think my flow 40 series is too loud, and i was looking to get a 50, you want to trade? its only like 2 months old, i got it put on in christmas, let me know

and by the way, flowmasters sound the best on our trucks, and you can just put the muffler on without anything else, just take a local exhaust shop, and have them put it on, shouldnt cost much either and will sound good, hope this helps
