Ok guys, I have a '03 Ram QC with the 4.7. I currently have a 70 series flow with dual 2.25 pipes. Heres my question. i hate the sound or the flow, sounds muffled which i think the 2.25 pipes may be too small. Anyway, Im getting a MBRP muff, but should I a) get the single in single out and go back to a 3" tailpipe like stock or b) get the mbrp single in dual out and replace with 2.5 in pipes. Ive heard that the 4.7 does a lot better flow wise with the si/so. Any advice?

I run an MBRP Super Single on my '02. 2.5" in and out muffler. Sounds great and I made 196 hp/272tq on the dyno. IMHO, the 4.7 likes backpressure. A single in dual/out muffler will hurt your low end torque in the absence of other mods (pcm, cams, etc.).

I just installed the MBRP Split Duals this past weekend and I noticed a gain in off-the-line power and the sound is beyond awesome. Like b1llyw said though, the 4.7L is known to like back pressue so unless you have intake and cams done possibly the single in/single out 3" set up would be best? You should give Jonas at Premier Automotive a call, he'll be able to offer some advice and his prices can't be beat.

Aaron

The one that came with the kit is the 14". No droning at all, in fact it's not all that loud in the cab. Not nearly as loud as I thought it was going to be. Apparently it's fairly loud outside when I'm driving away, but I wouldn't know as I'm the only one who drives Trigger.

Aaron

No droning at all. The exhaust itself isn't all that loud in the cab is what I meant.
