does anyone hav ho cams on their 4.7? im looking into puttin them on mine, but i dont want my mileage to get any worse, its already below 10mpg, also,whats a fairly inexpensice investment that will give me a decent amount of horsepower?

I have H.O. Cams. Get an Intake and Exhaust. It will compliment the cams because the cams will be letting in more fuel/air, so you want the Intake and Exhaust.

After alot of reserach (see search engine) the scoop seems to be this.
For low end, get the cams only.
For mid/high end and possibly a little low end too, get the cams AND intake.
Can't tell ya about gas milage.

andrew, it would be a long list if you want to know who's done the cams.
10mpg? What the h*ll are you doing? I have a quad cab, 4.7, 5spd, Leer top on the bed, slt, with the heavy chrome bumpers, etc. and I couldn't get as low as 10 if I tried! 10mpg, doesn't sound right! The worst I've got, pulling my boat some, etc. was 16MPg. Mixed, not just Hwy.
I think that 'gps' comments on the HO mods are very accurate.

I only ever get 260 miles to a tank but I only fill
up with 16-17 gallons (never let it run
dry)...andrew sounds like you have an
extremely heavy foot.

I went to the Jeep dealer close to my house and the bastards wanted $200 per HO cam and $386 for the intake! Have the prices gone up that much? A few months ago they were less than $100 for both!
