Here's the deal: I just bought a 1997 Dakota 5.2l V8,
auto, w/ 37000 miles and the tow pkg. from a neighbor
down the street. Old man, so it wasen't dogged out 2
much. It's only got a k&n air filter and flowmaster so far.
Anyway, a friend of mine has a 1995 chevy blazer and
claims to have the s-10 ss V6 (ha), which would only
put out about 180hp tops. I know for sure he has a k&n
intake kit, exhaust, and chip. It is also an automatic. If
the crap about the engine is true, he might be pushing
230hp, which I doubt. So, 2 questions: 1. Could what
he says be true, and 2. If he ever gets the balls to race
(he backed out once), who would win?

You should totally smoke him. Even if yours is a 4wd it'll still be no contest. Even when my truck was stock I beat the hell out of my friends s-10 blazer. He took me off the line cuz of some major traction loss, but I caught up and started to pass him by 40 mph, at about 85 he was almost a football field back there so i let off and coasted the last 1/8th mile to the stop sign, then waited.
