I have MT ET streets. 26x 10.5 x 15 on them Durango / Dakota rims. I dont have any spin at the strip but get lots of wheel hop. I got some Cal Tracs to solve that. I ran 18 psi. I suppose you could go a little lower maybe 15 psi.
They work great and I think most R/T guys run `em. I paid about 150 ea. Might want to ask some guys whats better , 26 or the stock 28" diameter. 26" will put you higher in the rpms when you cross the line. (1/4 mi.)

I think I crossed the line in 3rd @ 4800 rpm with 26" and 42-4300 with 28"

Thats about all I know ! Hope this helps !

Most of the hard core racers on the R/T list use the Hoosier slicks. If you intend to use them on the street or neet DOT tires for running the Street classes at drag strip, get the Quick Time Pros.

i had 26/11.5/15 MT E.T. Streets and 27/11.5/15 Hoosier Quick Time Pros mounted on those same wheels. I seemed to get better launches with the Hoosiers.

The Hoosiers (all though not recommended) felt a lot better on the street also. The M.T.s seemed to be pretty sloppy.

(i do not mean every day, obviously, i just mean the 15 miles of city driving to get to where i race at night) btw, how many runs can you usually get out of an average set of slicks??

AFI,

I run BFG comp t/a street slicks. Got about 11k miles on my last set, including numerous runs at the track. I had to smoke them at the track the first run, but they stayed sticky after that, so no need to warm them up. Sears can order them for you for about $105 a piece, compared to Summit's $134. The 275/60/15's will keep your diameter at the stock 28".

May I ask how you will be running 12s-13s now? Aren't you the one that was running 16s? Keep us updated!

I run the 26x10.5x15s for now, and occationally leave them on the truck to drive to the local 1/8th mi---

That said, I run the tires at 22 psi, don't mess around, and things are fine. They are DOT approved, just remember that if the road is wet, even the slightest bit-- you'll be hurting for traction. It's 8 miles each way from my house to the track.

Sam

(I paid $300 for the tires and rims w/air already in the tires! :)

sleeper-the only time i ran a 16.1 was when i forgot to turn on my n20 bottle....a bunch of extra fuel can really bog down a motor.

yeah, dont EVER drive them when the road is wet. I was going across town with mine and their was a freak rain shower and i almost killed my self. Had my truck going sideways 55 mph for about 300 yards. Good thing i at least know how to recover.
