i purchased a programmer for my 1999 dodge 5.2 liter dakota, and i sent it right back, you cant adjust shift points or anything that they advertise, the only thing was octane rating speed limiter and tire size nothing that really helped, so all and all it just freaking sucks!!!!!!!! i dont recomend it to anyone, just letting you dodge guys know the scoop, later!!!!

Did you install it? I have read many glowing reviews of power increases, mainly low end torque improvements. I'm curious to know if you just sent it back without installing and test driving or if you just sent it back without trying it first.

Where do they advertise that the Dodge programmer will alter shift points? Last I checked they make no such claims.

Only the Mopar PCM and the B&G flash can change shift points.

Thats too bad. I put it on my 97 and noticed a huge difference. Really woke up second gear. And if you read the statements on their website they say that they cannot change shift points on the dodge trucks. If you have a 99 why wouldn't you buy the mopar pcm anyways? And I believe the reason they have a 93 octane setting is because you have to run 93 octane!!! Use the 87 octane setting if you are going to use 87 octane gas.

DON'T BUY HYPERTECH! I bought one for my Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi and it doesn't work. Called the factory for help and the guy was a dick! If I didn't live so far away I would have gone down and kicked his ass. Thanks Gary!

I used one on my 2001 5.9. Made a huge noticable differance. It even made a noticable improvement in the shifting.
