I'm running the M1 2 barrel on my '99 - I don't use a turtle with mine and have had good results so far. It was the first thing I did and was worth 3/10's and 2mph in the 1/8.
Get some good headers , 3" single exhaust , and get some sort of air filter set-up and it will wake it up pretty good.
Mine is a Club Cab 2wd with a 3.55 open diff and went from 10.50's@65 to 9.60's@73 in the 1/8 with what I listed above.

Thanks alot guys, so far i have a jet throttle body spacer, k&n air intake, my exhaust is split into 2 after the catalitic converter. The exhaust sounds great, but i think i want more of a flow master sound, think i could just install one after the cat converter, think it would sound good comeing from the 'duals'? If so, what series of the flow master should i get? Thanks alot

Use the flowmaster 40 series I've got one on my truck and it sounds great 2000 dakota 4.7/5-speed, homebrew cold air intake, t-body spacer, headers, single 3" exhaust pipe, flowmaster 40, 4.10 locking rear end, and performance clutch

If your looking for a little deeper sound, I would recommend the 40 series as well.

Get the 40 series 3"single inlet/3"dual outlet.
