I just fininshed installing a set of Harland Sharp aluminum 1.7 roller rockers on my 2002 R/T. Man, these are super easy install. John Mercedes at SoutheastRT helped on the design specifically for our trucks. NO lash or timing to mess with, no guide plates or new rods, just rip out the stock rockers and bolt on the new 1.7's and hit the road. The stock covers even work. It took me and my buddy only 2 hours and we were bullshixxin' most of the time. So if your considering 1.7RR's to use with a stock cam, you cant beat these, only $295 shipped. I just wish I wouldnt have wasted that $550 on the useless B&G flash. Next up 4.56 gears !!

Sorry, I threw the box away with the part number, but John Mercedes at SoutheastRT is a distributor and sells them for about $100 under list price, email him at jmmtsb@prodigy.net he is a super good guy and very very busy so be patient, he can answer just about every question that deals with the 5.9 R/T. If you are putting these in a R/T, let me know and I can give you instructions, super easy.

I told my buddy that someone was gonna slam me for not taking pictures, I wish I would have. As far as gains, I just put 'em in last night and didnt want to go wide open immediately but John says about 3/10ths off your quarter mile time and better fuel milage. Ill keep ya'll posted when I really test them out.

lello: The B&G just didnt impress me, maybe cause I got the reg flash for the stock keg intake. I cant tell any difference whatsoever, I think something may be wrong. I called him and he said it was done right. Just chalk that one up as a waste.

Yes, a reset will allow your PCM to set to the factory 'table', and via your O2 & related sensors relearn the new 'parameters' more quickly. Always a good idea after any modification.

recently i installed the 1.7 rockers on my '02 R/T and they definetly made a difference in power. however, 2 wierd things began to happen after they were installed. it seems like i have a ticking sound coming from the engine compartment now and also if i rev up the engine or if im driving along and floor it, it wont always return to the 600rpm idle..... it will often idle at 1500rpm and ill have to rev it again to make it go down. if anyone can tell me wat to do it would be great thanks.

You will have some minor valve clatter with roller rockers, as for your idle maybe a vaccum connection.

The 1.7's should give you a solid 10HP at the rear wheels and another TRUE .032 of lift to your current cam. This means your engine crank HP may see 15-20HP. It will also make your cam behave like it has another 4 degrees of duration. For $295, it's a very highly recommended and worthwhile mod.

Don, resetting your PCM can be done by you. Remove negative
battery cable and turn key in ignition to start and hold in place
for about 30 seconds. Then reconnect battery cable. A flash is
where the stock vehicle program in the PCM is replaced with a
more custom tuned one depending on your modifications etc.
The flash will be done by some other company other than the
dealer who only has stock programs. $300-$500 on average for
a flash.

I guess you didn't get the fact that the post is over 7 years old! I'm sure with inflation they would have gone up in price. Check summitracing.com.
