I am looking to buy headers for my 4.7 and putting dual 2 1/2 inch exhaust with no cats. What headers are better to use for this setup?

I ordered the Borla headers for my 4.7 and they would not bolt to the cross over pipe.. I was very disappointed.. It was about a 20 degree difference in the angle of the header and the cross over...Inner pipes also hit A-frames.. I sent them back and decided to stay away from them
.. I thought Borla would be the best.. I was wrong..

I already ran true duals, but I wasn't aware that the headers weren't working well! Damn, now I might have to find another route.

Autolite 3923 Plugs

If you don't have excessive mods the exhuast manifolds breath just find on the 4.7's but if you have lots of mods it would be just fine to get the headers and 2 1/2 inch duals but with 2 1/2 duals don't really help unless you have 425 plus hp,otherwords your might lose bottom end.

If you are gonna get headers, get the JBAs.

The theroy on losing a bunch of low end torque is hogwash. After having my exhaust done and letting the computer re-learn everything, I dynoed at just under 270 RWTQ (keep in mind that I have an automatic, so I lose more than you manual guys). My gas mileage went up a bit (as long as I stay out of the pedal), and it sounds mean as hell. Now I need to dyno the HO Cams and Intake, along with my new TB. After that, it's a custom KB S/C.

Demon Dakota,

Actually, it's more an issue of what people consider "low-end"

Having too little backpressure in the exhaust reduces the speed of the flow, which reduces scavenging, which reduces torque, but it's mostly a concern until 2000 RPM. Most of us tuners don't spend much time below 2000 RPM, so it's not as noticable, but for feathering the gas pedal and keeping the revs low, you will notice a drop in torque.

I am running stock 3" single exhaust/no muffler on my 99 CC 5.2 Auto with 3.55lsd. I notice a reduction in torque below 2000, but after that, it spins up much faster than with the muffler.

Stock w/o muffler sounds awesome in my opinion...next I need to find someone in my area who will remove my cat...no emissions testing in ND. ;)
