I installed the Transgo kit in my tranny this weekend, and everything seemed okay until this morning. I have a P1740 code, which is either the tcc solenoid or overdrive solenoid systems doesn't seem to be making much sense. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

When you setup your pressure, did you turn it out 3 to 4 turns? It sounds like a possible pressure issue.

My kit told me to put in the resistor . I ran without it at first but wanted to move the line pressure up a bit so I put the resistor in < BIG problems! Code and bad shifts with only three turns in from flush on the line presure. Checked the shop manual and the wire they said to put it on at the PCM was the wronge one!! Pulled the resistor out and it works great.

You could not get me to go near a trans go kit. I have only put kits GM tranys but when I have they have been complete modifaction kits. You know double the clutches and steels all kevlar friction material, bands, new ruber, redesigned pump, drilling the case, plantary with more pinons, beefier sprag, forced lube to rear, reworkeing the valve body.....I have never put a shift kit in a stock trany and would not trust trans go. I have seen some turn out ok and most have problems. If you want a shift kit try someone that documents their product better like B&M or TCI.

Transgo made one kit that I think is worth while and tends to work most times. They used to make a No-Yo-YO kit for early GM 700R4 tranys that put an end to it hunting for gears and kicking done out of 4th al the time. It was a good kit but the rest seem to be 50-50 if you do not have alot of experince with them.

I love my Transgo kit, and I installed it myself half drunk too, I might add. It's not hard. It will make your trans last longer when set at a milder setting. Yes I would think it could kill a stock trans if setup at race setting. I have installed shift kits in GM's with stock everything and it lasted longer than I wanted the truck 10yrs to be exact, and have never had a problem. The beefing up of components only is required when you have it set on full race or holding down big HP.
With these new transmissions that have sensors and are electronically controlled are sensitive on the pressure ranges. Most all the trouble I have seen have been existing problems before the install or pressures set out of range.

I too have the transgo kit for the 46re, and I love it . It firms up the shifts nicely. From what I have read, it all comes down to installation, as to wheather or not you have problems. I got the kit from e-bay for 22.00 bucks and that included shipping. I know that sounds hard to beleive, but it's true. The shop I took it to, charged me 220.00 to put it in. I was so happy when I got the truck back with no problems., that I bought the shop lunch and threw in a case of 0'duels.

Hey Big T, don't sweat it.Just make sure whoever is doing it know's what there doing, meaning they do it for a living. Ask questions. Let them know that your truck is your baby, and that if they screw it up , they will either have to make it right, or bring it back to stock. That's why I say take it to a professonal.

Jim , look on e-bay first. Who know's you might get lucky. If you don't find one there , you can get one through summit or jegs.

Do you think removing the resistor may fix my problem, or is it something else?
