Left foot on brake, right on gas, bring it up to "stall" speed, youll feel the axle wrap up, apply the gas ALMOST to the point of the tires breaking loose, when the light goes, pop your foot off the brake and EASE into the gas. It feels like your going nowhere atall, but I GTECH'd it and it showed about 8 tenths better than nailing it from a stop and about 6 tenths better than nailing the gas when popping the brake, you should only spin the tires for about 3 feet or so. hope it helps.

I have trouble launching my 92 v6(auto). I power brake it, but the tire spins just above idle(1,000RPM). Makes for a good burnout, but sucky launches. I have a 3.55 open rearend. From a standstill, it will burn the tire for about 8 feet.

left foot on break. bring the RPM's up to about 800-900rpm push the gas halfway and after about 1500rpm floor it. makes for minimal tire spin.
