Does anyone know how much it would probably cost for someone to stroke my 360 to a 408? Parts and labor? I have a 02 cc R/T. What kind of pcm mods would I need? I have a pretty good working knowledge of whats under the hood but not enough to do this. I was thinking KRC since I live in South FL. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

to rebuild yours to a 408 you can count on a minimum of $4000.00 the reason it is so high is b/c you will want a set of ported R/T heads, roller rockers, M1, 55mm T/B, and a pcm flash...plus some tranny work and probably a torque converter...

Your lucky you live in FL near KRC. I live 1200 miles away. I wanna 408 but am worried all the TRQ that engine makes will break something.

You are looking at $10,000 if you want a strong complete 408 Stroker. If you just want the economy 408 Stroker you are looking at $5,000. The Economy Stroker will run on your computer system with no problems, however, if you want the strong one you will need to upgrade. Jon Davis built my Stroker. I have 12,000 miles on it and the only thing we have had to do to it, is oil changes. (I have the Strong Stroker) It is a daily driver except during the winter. I don't have Nitrous or a Supercharger and my best run is a 12.83@108.35 on all motor. I might add that I have a Club Cab. If it were a Regular Cab, the run would have been 12.3. The computer system I have is a Delphi Electronics System that Jon worked with some computer guys and I have no problems with the fuel. The only things my Stock PCM runs are the Transmission and Dash Lights. Jon lives in Hartford City, Indiana and you can reach him at 1-765-348-4386. The best time to catch him is after 6:30pm Eastern Time. I might add that he is building Terry DeLong a 408 Stroker for a 98 Dakota. Terry will have Nitrous on his. You will need to watch for it later this year.

Damn... There sure are some big figures being thrown around here. I can get well into a hemi or viper motor for what some people are saying a 408 stroker build up will cost. I mean sheesh $10,000 for the motor is a bit much i dont care how strong the 408 is built. I mean if you have that much money why not drop the 500hp gts engine in their for a couple grand more. Or get a crate motor for half that... Maybe im just missing something...

Marty builds a good motor, however, I haven't seen any numbers or proof that can match one the Jon has built. Not saying he cannot do it, but a lot of people can toss out numbers. Mine has the numbers and proof to back it.

Not to sound cocky or anything but just save all that money and buy a SRT-10 Ram which is supposed to do 12's or low 13's off of the showroom floor!
But, if not contact Fastman he makes a great 408 and also offers a top-end rebuild heads,cam,M1,TB,blah,blah for around $2500 and he will come to you and install!

Wow so much money... why not just buy a Super Charger? You will save a ton of money and a lot of the S/C setups love the stock figures. 100 plus hp isn't bad... for 3,500-4000 and if you get it used 1,500... think about it

Yeah , true. 408 makes about 360 RWHP and a supercharged motor with heads , cam and all the goodies can make close to 400 RWHP. But if youre gonna have the whole top of the motor done might as well throw in some stronger internals and then you might as well spend the extra 3-400 for the 4" crank. Lotta choices.
Whats harder to keep tuned , a S/C or a 408 ? Definitely need lotta fuel for both.

..... or you could do both. Build the 408 now with some low compression pistons , drive that for a year and break it in real good. Then S/C that. Wow , a S/Cd 408! Arent too many of those around.
