Can't say it it will work because od the different years but one BIG caution. If his has the factory alarm and yours does not, his will not start in your truck. If yours has the alarm and his does not, if you activate your alarm his PCM will NOT work in his truck anymore. The alarm function is not in the PCM but something get set in the PCM when the alarm function is used. (the same part number PCMs apply alarm/no alarm)

First of all, maybe we should address why you think your PCM does not work?

another thing to consider, depending on your mileage, the PCM should still be covered under the federal emissions warranty (if there is a fault with it). I do not see many of these fail, though there are some out there. As for plugging in your friend's, I think it would work, though I tend to agree with Neil - if either of the trucks were equipped with a SKIM or SKIS theft deterrent system (look at ignition key - if cover is gray or silver in color, it probably has SKIM or SKIS), the truck may not run. I would also assume you know about making sure the key is OFF when plugging in or disconnecting PCM connectors (better still is to have neg. batt. terminal disconnected as well).

Bluedakman, the factory fob activated alarm system will also set something in the PCM.
