I have 2 67 chevys and a 2001 dakota cc 4.7,i've seen people take chevy motors and put them in fords all day long but i don't know about a chevy motor in a dodge, but if you could find a way to stick a 350 in your dakota it may be hard but it CAN be done, and you could prolly go with a 350 turbo tranny, when you put it in please let me know because when my 4.7 sees the last of its days i really want to do it to.

"built ford tuff with chevy stuff"and prolly dodges too

Hey OPIE,he asked if he could get a 350 in his dakota,oh yea if he does dont go looking for him cause his difference with the 350 will be night and day bettween the r/t and the 98 dakota with the 350 in otherwords he will TEAR YOUR A$$ UP...lol...oh yea no dipsh!ts aloud only people willing to help...later dipsh!t.Anyways i'll try to find out how hard it will be to get that motor in.With the right stuff you could put a 300 shot maybe more on a good biult 350 if you put that on most 360's with a comp. i'm not sure what will happen...well yes i do it'll blow it to peices. Not talking bad about dodges cause remember i do have one,But chevy is well known for there interchangable parts,no matter if you have a 283,302,305,327,350,or 400 small block you can use any parts off of any motor to fix it or you could make it to a 383,or 377.

Midnight, are you drunk? Stupid? A little of both maybe. What an excercise it was to read your 3rd grade level writing.

Now that I've managed to get through your dribble I have a question for you; can you take a 283 piston and put it in a 400? :)

If you're going to rant Midnight, at least make it readable.

Well HURL can you take piston out of you lawnmower and put it in your dakota motor? what i was trying to say was that the guy that wrote the post at the top of the page wanted to put a 350 in his dakota and i was saying that it would be good cause chevys have interchangable parts, can you understand that?,and if your going to bitch like a little kid do it somewhere else.

"and if your going to bitch like a little kid do it somewhere else."

The irony is killing me ;)

This is what you said:

"chevy is well known for there interchangable parts,no matter if you have a 283,302,305,327,350,or 400 small block you can use any parts off of any motor to fix it"

What you said implies that you can take a piston out of a 283 and stick it in a 400. That is not the case.

Can you understand that?

I can be a bit of a $marta$$ (part of my charm).

I appreciate a good chevy too. Out of the 30+ cars I've owned over the years, many have been chevy, some have even been fords, but this is my first dodge. I remember when I was in high school, a friend had a coronet R/T with the 440. That thing would smoke the hell out of my '69 camaro every time, in fact I can't remember a race he lost in that monster.

Hey, justa4x2, Why don't you stuff a 420 HP Chrysler 360 in your Dakota? It will bolt right in. You don't need a blower or a bottle. If all you want is 375 HP put a 318 in it.

it will fit... but it would take some custom work. There is a dakota around here that is a full custom... it has a corvette LT1 between the frame and a T56 tranny.... too bad its a trailor queen though.

Why would you want to go and ruin a perfectly good Mopar with a Chevy motor? If you want to do that project, sell the Dak and get an 82-93 S10. There are all sorts of kits to do that swap.

Hey, midnightdak , I went to put a 350 Chevy crank in my 350 Chevy engine and it didn't fit! Someone said something about a one piece or two piece rear main seal? Big or small main bearings??? How long were the rods? What size rod bearing journals? Piston pin height? Gee is that differant too? Short water pump or long one? How many bolts in the valve cover? Oh I'm sorry the old spark plugs fit the new heads. I can see why you may have trouble making a Chrysler run good.

why in the name of all things holy would you tarnish one of the finest automobile builders in the world by putting in a chevy. With all the work your going to have to do why not put a 440 in it. Thats what I'm going to do. I can understand that chevy parts are cheap as your mom (just kiddin). But then why not just buy a chevy. I'll buy your blow up truck with a sixer in it.

Take a 2001 Dakota and put a 1959 Dodge 350 in it. Dah, just don't seem right. The first "B" engine Chrysler made for one year. It sucked so bad they bored it out and made it a 361,yes ,Chrysler made a 361 "B" engine. If your going to go to all that trouble stick a 440 in it. Some of you guys must get your swap ideas while you are playing with plastic models. Take the engine out of this and put it in that. You got to stop sniffing the glue. Maybe you could find one of those "RB" 383 engines that was put in the 1960 Dodge. Yah,Dodge made a high block 383! Then put those long cross ram intake manifolds with the two four barrel carbs. Why do I even read this junk??????
