Subject: BG Flash screws you on shipping charges

I recently participated in a group buy for the BG Chrysler flash on my PCM. BG quoted us $530.00 and said that the $30 was for "next day" shipping when returning our PCMs. So I sent mine to him via 2 day air mail for only $9.00......its now been 4 days since he did the flash and I still have no PCM. I think $30 for standard shipping is a scam. Especially when I sent it 2 day for $9 bucks. If you decide to use this company in the future, be sure to mention this

What day did you send it on? If you sent it on a Thurs. and they get it on Friday, do the flash and turn around and ship it you won't get it till Monday cuz of the weekend. Maybe the next day air is the next day after they finally get to your flash cuz of the rush of orders they just had. Give em a call and find out what the deal is.

This is exactly why I sent mine with a pre-paid return label for Next Day which cost me only $12.75

I ship UPS all the time @ my work and there is a big difference between "Next Day Air" and "Next Day Air Saturday Delivery" ... B&G say they ship "Next Day Air" and they do... the weekends dont count as days... No one is screwing you.

Regardless if its "next day" or "next day - Saturday" It does not cost $30.....I sent mine 2day Fed Ex for $9 bucks, left on Monday after lunch and got there Wednesday morning. If weekends dont count then he should mail them with 3day for about $6....you would still get it Monday. Maybe my gripe should go toward UPS, but I still think $30 is too high to ship something and get it the fourth day.

It seems the shipping was pretty high when I had mine done this past summer. However, I packed mine in a larger box with lots of foam cushion and insured it for $400.

I shipped mine over night because I needed my truck. I sent mine out on a Monday afternoon and had it back on Wednesday afternoon.

Heck when you're spending $530, whats an extra $30.00???????

The Post office will send something express (2 day service max, 365 days a year) that size for about $13. Saturdays, Sundays, Christmas, whatever... If it doesn't make it by 3pm on the 2nd day you get the shipping charges refunded. They even give you a free box, so companies can't try to claim extra handling expenses. You also don't have to go to the post office, you can just put it out with the regular mail. I always like to laugh at people's shipping and handling charges, I know what the shipping costs generally are, so the rest would be considered "handling". If B&G is charging $17 for handling, they need to get some girlfriends of something, because they are doing entirely too much "handling"!
