I finally got one of nitrousteves intakes on my Dakota. I installed it in 15 minutes while talking on my cell phone at the same time. It slipped right in, perfect fit! Throttle response is greatly improved, and I feel more power kicking in lower on the rpm range. I just filled up the tank, so I don't know about MPG yet, and I never dynoed my truck, so I don't have any numbers there either. All in all, it's a very nice intake, looks great! Amazing piece for the price.

Well I am sure that double-filter intake is loud as hell under the hood.

I remember when we used to install the chrome open filter on out older carberated rods.

Little did we know that the stock and quiet intake with the pipe on it did just as good in most cases.

When you stick a tube with a filter on it under the closed hood, sure it SOUNDS loud. But it's also breathing in very HOT air from the RADIATOR. HOT LESS DENSE AIR.

I suggest people make a air intake that takes air from outside the hood. At least the stock box was smart enough to do that. You just need the best combination of least restrictive piping, filter and COLD OUTSIDE AIR.

Hood scoops are nice, but can be gay looking on trucks if not done with taste!

paysonbad your right about the heat, i got the intake and hope to get a new hood this spring that i have been looking at that has dual inlets that will force outside air to blow right on the filters, kind of a two step process

Steve.....in another post you have an intake tube, for the 3.9, that has a nipple on it for some kind of hose? I asked what the nipple was for.

Also, how much for just the tube? The fernco coupler and K&N filter I all ready have.

Thanks.

Mark

I'm a guy that likes to experiment and have fun.

Check out this homebrewed Cold Air Intake that we made for my friends old Baretta. The car is kind of a hooptie and we have started to experiemnt on it. I still gotta laugh at it!

For the whole project you can check it out HERE.

Nothing special. But it actually made the difference in his car because before he was loosing to my Chrysler and now his car beating my Chrysler! I want to make a Cold Air Intake for mine too, but it's gotta look good so it has to be more stealth. His Baretta intake doesn't look all that good, but it's not all that bad either I guess. He likes it. It works!
