does the cam and intake give much of an improvement?have seen some unhappy buyers(posting threads) who are not satisfied with the 4.7 cam and ho intakes.maybe they are stock set ups,and a power adder will work with those mods better.i failed to mention i have a 5 speed,so the flash would just be for autos, right?

thanks

the short answer: well worth the money.

But first, read this post:

and this one:
http://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/per/6404.html
this one too:

and maybe this one:

this one,
http://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/v8/972.html
and this one.

There's plenty of documentation on this website of what works and what doesn't on the 4.7L

I didn't do the PCM flash because of the timing advance.........I've always been told thats a NO NO with Nitrous
nitroussteve,
What times are you running, the best I got with a 100 Shot has been 14.0 @ 99mph. With traction being a big problem on street tires. Ihave all of the easy mods, but no cams. I think our trucks are pretty similar.

an 1/8.i spun alot,but managed high 8's.
i shot the spray in 3rd,and the 1/8th was not enough room.

You need to hit the bottle right out of the hole what ever you gain in 60ft you'll double in the 1/4.EX if your 60's were 2.0 and on the nitrous you run a 1.8 that would shave about .4 of your et not including what you would gain the rest of the track

lilpunisher,
as much as my dak spins off the line without nitrous,i did not think it would be any benifit,
in a low gear, unless i used slicks.the 3:92,combined with the 5 speed makes a difference.heck,i can pull out in second, just driving around town.i will try it in 1st or second, next time i drive it.i guess you have to practice with ones combination.

thanks

Then maybe your tuning should be traction. Some traction bars some slicks or street slicks. Your talking probably a 1sec +. with a rush that will make you sh!t

You can get it to hook, it just takes a little practice, and not a lot of tire presh. I have the same setup; 4.7 5 speed 3.92. My best 60' is 2.07, 18psi on 275/60 Firstones, launch at around 1500 rpm and let it rip. I have no experience with the "juice", but I will, when I finsh paying for this thing. A 100 shot should get me pretty close to the 13's.

How many freaking times must it be said that reducing the tire pressure on sidewall style street tires decreases traction? Think of it this way, when your tires are low on air and you drive on them for say 10,000 miles, you'll notice the outside edges are significantly more worn than the normal, while the center section of your tire has very little wear indication at all. That's because you have decreased the contact patch to the pavement (also known as "traction"). When your tires are inflated properly, the wear indications are even across the entire surface of the tire (excluding alignment problems or damage). The contact patch is LARGER, thus, more "traction". Slicks DO NOT COUNT IN THIS EQUATION. Don't confuse the two, and follow the directions the tire manufacturers have given you! Stop underinflating your street tires and save some money in the long run.

I tried running @ 35psi and had zero grip. Ran 25psi and had minimal grip. 18psi, excellent grip. I let the air out at the track, so, 3 miles tops, not 10,000. I take an air tank to the track with me and fill them back up to drive home. I can't agree with what your say "reducing the tire pressure on sidewall style street tires decreases traction".

Maybe it's just magic.

Do a burnout in a clean parkinglot. A thick, solid black burnout is a properly inflated tire.

I just bought a brand new 02' 4.7 CC three months ago, with a limited slip. I have flowmaster exhaust, and an airaid intake installed now. I have a NX 150 shot kit sitting in my garage with the Gen 2 upgrade. So far I am remotely impressed with it, much improvement from my 99' 3.9, thats for sure. But I have yet to see the limited slip kick in. I can spin them all day long and I just don't get what the $1200 got me? What the heck is it susposed to do? Also, I heard that a flash + nitrous = :-( You are right on that one. Did you guys replace your plugs, and with what kind. I am reading mixed reviews. thanks

nitroussteve,
I would say the traction bars are probably the best mod I've done so far, if you don't have them your wasting your time with the nitrous. I've had enough practice with mine that I can launch in first without hitting WOT untill the truck is moving and with the traction bars, h-rates, and a sticky tack, it doesn't break loose too bad. I'll look at some of my slips but I think my best 60' was without the nitrous.
