I have an '02 R/T and am in the process of upgrading the ignition. Has anyone heard of or used the MSD "Stacker" igniton box that claims to directly connect to the factory ignition ? Would I be better off going with the MSD 6A and do they make a considerable performance improvment ? Will any of this or a MSD coil trip any codes in the PCM ?

Based upon what I know about aftermarket ignitions and the reports of people who've installed them, I'd advise you to save your money and spend it on something else, unless you're running a supercharger or nitrous (or planning to). For a stock or mildly modded motor, you could add a set of good plug wires like the MSD Superconductors, and a brass cap and rotor, and that should be fine. I've read tests and heard reports from people who've actually noticed a decline in power and gas mileage after the install of an ignition system on a stock motor, plus, they tend to eat up caps and rotors. I saw a picture on a website of the inside of a distributor cap after the install of an MSD ignition on an otherwise basically stock motor, and it was all flashed over and discolored, and the contacts had been eaten away. I don't know what else you've done to your truck, but an ignition is the LAST thing that I'd choose to fiddle with.

I had a ultra coil on my 93 dakota I couldnt tell any difference in performance. All it did was eat cap and rotors very 8 to 10k and plugs too.
