sorry about the spelling error. i thought 'salowma' was rather clever. evidently when you are being made a fool of you dont like smart remarks made about your truck. dont take things so dammed personal...theres no reason to come here and pick a fight. a 12.60 is nothing to sneeze at but youre not the fasted truck around. not by a longshot. and like i said, if you want to come to chicago and have a lil race, i think there might be a driver or two not shaking so bad they cant get the key in the ignition. by the way, the web address is dodgedakotas.com...not 'www.boyswithfriendsdrivingchebbyswholiketotalksmack.com'....keep the trash talking on the chevy board.

my truck ran a 8.95 in the 1/8th (about a 13.425 1/4) but you dont see me going over to chevy sites displaying what my V6 open diff dakota can do. That person just wanted to start sh!t from the beginning... pretty darn obvious.

I'm sorry guys, but its time for me to raise the dead horse you've all been kicking and voice my opinion. Shane, I'm happy for the guy with the 12 second sonoma. I work with a guy who owns and races a 94 sonoma. His best time was a 12.8 not sure of MPH, but the timeslip is framed and hangs in his cube. He prides himself on that truck, and has spent many hours working on it. He is also one of the most knowlegeable auto enthusiasts (spelling?) I know of. I had the opportunity to race him once and was scratching my head for 3 days afterwards. My 4.7L club cab ran 14.9@94mph (Milan Dragway, Milan, MI) at the time and he pulled on me like I shut it off. It was 3 days later when he showed me the Intercooled paxton and the around $3000 in just engine work that it took to go that fast. Give me an intercooled paxton and $3000 to play with, and I'll show you a faster Dakota. For now, I'm happy with what I've got. Truthfully, it was a tossup between a new Chevy S10 Xtreme 4.3L and my 4.7L Dakota. Dodge gave me a better deal, so thats what I drive. Shane, just for curiosity's sake, being serious, please dont flame me, what do you drive? I would love to see your truck, if you drive one. Or I would love to see your car. P.S. If you want a pic or two and some specs of my co-workers S15, email me, I'll send them your way.

Hola people. FastRT6Dakota I drive a 2000 s10 zr2. I love my truck and it does what I want it to. I've always wanted one since I was 16. I didn't own one until I turned 22. I'm 24 now. I have a great job and a college degree. I'm trying to get cisco certified now CCNA. But the point is I was never intending to start a flame war on this forum. I've been reading this forum for several months now. It's a public forum and thats why I posted what I posted. The only reason I posted this fast sonoma is because I've read too many times about people saying s10/sonomas can't race at the track. That's the only reason I put this post up. You guys can take it however you want. Don't forget this forum that I posted on is for ALL THE PUBLIC.

but in most cases they just shouldnt.
the one you posted is an exception.
fstrt6-the odds are that the xtreme was spraying or something, youd give me a run for my money with 14.9, and ive never come CLOSE to losing to one.

See when it all comes to it. It comes down to the driver. I believe that most races won are the ones that are 80% driver skill and 20% vehicle capability. Now this is comparing close to equal vehicles. Look at Nascar. All of those guys are limited to so much on their vehicles (engine, body design, etc; but IT comes down to the driver skill. It doesn't matter how old you are, it matters how much experience you have. Anybody can spend hours on the back roads practicing their technique, learn their limits, and will always prevail against the other guy who runs occasionally on the street says "I can beat Him or Her". So it doesn't matter if you own a dakota or I own an s10. It's mostly driver skill.............

The tree evens everything up, it all comes down to drivers skill. Snooze at the light and you lose, cut a good light and you win, as long as your ride is consistent.
Love to have the other guy out 30 yards or so when my light goes, only to catch them at the end of the track and WIN!

afi360, I'd love to race you sometime. I usually run at Milan Dragway in MI, but have been know to make a trip to Raceway Park and Norwalk in OH. I'm always looking for someone to run. Last time at milan, there was only 1 other dak and it got pulled off of a trailer. no way I would consider running him. but to reply to your last comment, the S15 that I work with has an intercooled blower setup. He dyno'd at about 300-325 rear wheel horse. He's also got about $3000 in addition work done just to the motor. It's a nice truck that I'd trade mine for any day. ok, well maybe not, but... thats all. its dinner time.

that reminds me of the last time i was at us41...a lightning came off a trailer...wearing slicks and no tailgate...ran a 12.9...i dont think a 12.9 lightning should be on a trailer, to be honest.
i totally forgot that you posted what the s10 had done to it...so i assumed spray, as that is what everyone and their brother sprays now (im trying to coin the phrase "the fast and the furious syndrome")..anyway, if you ever end up at us41 in indiana, lemme know, well line up!!
hopefully shane will stick to his word about this being his last post and it will die off..i cant make that promise. its far too fun.
