Has anybody purchase the fiberglass functional Keystone Good Hood for the Dakota yet? I am contimplating the purchase and would like to get some feedback on it. As far as the fit, finish and quality of the hood. Length of time on your vehicle and are there any stress cracks? Anything you can offer up would be appreciated greatly!

I would hold off on buying a hood from Keystone right now. They may have an announcement on some new hoods after the first of the year.

What year Dakota? I had one on my 1995 for about 3 years, fit and finish were perfect. I got it from Terry Delong, who designed it. I would HIGHLY recommed his hoods, they are excellent, and functional.

He makes them for the 97+s as well, he makes the shaker hood, and maybe an airgrabber sometime soon. Tell him I sent you, he has by far the best hoods, at an unbeatable price.

Hoss318, Right below my signature shows the year of my Dakota, it's 2000.

I emailed the person you recommended and got no replies at all in 3 weeks! Apparently they don't need my business so I have no qualms about giving it to someone else. I refuse to do business with companies that do not return correspondence. Let that be a heads-up for any of you that are considering a Pro Finish hood.

Thanks anyway, Hoss!

Thanks for the heads up, dakotart1!

my arch-enemy of the street racing scene has one. after a minor front-end accident, the hood is falling apart. someone chucked a beer bottle at his truck, and it took a few chunks out of the hood right near the scoops. fit and finish looked ok, except that there was something inside of the hood that rattled around...would drive me NUTS. the part that made the scoops funtional was ugly as all hell, but it worked.

Yeah, I'm thinking on holding out for an all steel hood-scooped hood. I think that would be more logical for the street...

Whoops, guess I didn't read enough. I've never emailed Terry before, sorry he didn't reply. I'd give him a call if I were you, but it just depends on what kind of hood you're looking for. If you want a shaker or air grabber, you kind of have to talk to terry.

Love mine. Ive had it for about 4 years now and have no stress cracks or anything like that what so ever. The fit and finish were really good to. Great fit on the ram air part of it. All around good hood. (no pun intended). Also felt a great improvment when i installed it. Im sure it wasnt because of the ram air part as i dont go 200 mph so it isnt "ramming" that much air in it. But for a cold induction you cant beat it.
