Subject: McCord Power Plate Group Buy

Finally end the hassle of crawling underneath your car to uncap your cutout. Eliminate the dirty job of changing your borla plates. Now you can flip a switch and go from stealthy quiet to racecar loud in seconds, without leaving your drivers seat with the McCord Power Plate!

Product Information: http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/mpp.htm

For those who had issues with the original PowerPlate... I spoke with Keith McCord over the phone yesterday, he says the problems that plagued the MPP1 were caused because people placed them too close to the headers (instead of putting them down the pipe or after the cat), and the extreme heat would cause the leaking (similar to the Nitrous issues with Throttle Bodies, but heat instead of cold). The new MPP2 is using a thicker plate and revised design, he says there is no longer a problem with leaking.

The product comes with a one year warranty on the motor/gearbox, and a three year warranty on the body and electronics.

I'll co-ordinate a simple group buy if enough people are interested (I want one of these myself so I'll be #1). The PowerPlate is only sold directly from the manufacturer, so this is the only way to save money on this product.

Anyone using a single 3" exhaust pipe should purchase a single PowerPlate. Anyone wanting to use the PowerPlate system on a dual exhaust should buy a dual system (includes 2 powerplates that are controlled together off of one switch).

Normal Price : $105.00 single $203.75 dual (includes shipping)
5-9 Orders : 99.75 single 193.56 dual (includes shipping)
10-14 Orders : 95.00 single 185.00 dual (includes shipping)
15-19 Orders : 91.75 single 180.00 dual (includes shipping)
20+ Orders : 89.00 single 175.00 dual (includes shipping)

Canadian orders add $4.00

Unlike other group buys where people submit their order through an individual, each person who is interested should contact and pay McCord directly. Go to their website for ordering information or call 1-314-406-8101. Mention my website www.dakota-durango.com when ordering so he knows which group buy we are ordering from. I will be talking to Keith about a cutoff date for the group buy on Monday 11/4 to discuss the cutoff date but I would expect it to be COB 11/25/02.

PLEASE E-mail me at SinCityRT @ Dakota-Durango.com if you place an order with McCord just so I can track the orders that are being processed. If you have any questions about the product itself please refer to the manufacturer's website or give them a call.

I had one of the original Power Plates and it wasn't anywhere near the stock manifolds, and it leaked. I really liked the idea though, and returned it to Keith so he could thicken up the plate. The new one has been on for a couple weeks now with no problems yet. But then again it took about 3 weeks for the other one start leaking. We'll see. I'm really hoping this one doesn't start leaking because I really like being able to control the opening and closing of the cut-out on demand. It's way cool!!

Overall I'd have to say go for it guys. I recommend this one. Keith seems to be trying to get this thing to work right, and it looks to be a well made product. It's a legit company that stands behind it's warranty. I had no problems in returning mine to get it fixed. Could have gotten my money back just as easy, but this thing is just too cool.

Thought some of you might want to hear my personal experiences and thoughts about it, so I threw out my 2 cents.
