A friend of mine sent me a very nice video of my best run of the Truckin' Nats weekend. My buddy in the black RC R/T has consistently kicked my behind every single time we've raced until this last weekend. Luckily I have it on file! It's quite possibly the last time it will happen! hahaha

Warning: It's a 2 meg file so you dial-up guys better go get a cup of coffee of something if you choose to download it. My truck is the white one.

I can't beleive how quite your trucks are! that's awesome.

I think they got your trap speed a little off. oops. Good run though, nice hole shot .500 is great. Is that with the new head and stuff?

Sleepers?

Message:
The material I used for the stripes was defective and checked up. I plan on replacing them with another color..... which is yet to be decided upon.

Yes, they are "stealth" trucks. Without any noise they are almost sleepers......almost.

Did you see the mph on the board? ;>)

According to the rest of the racers that I polled - the mph appears to be off by 20 mph! If ONLY it was true!!!!

Very interesting video, what turbo setup are you running? Was your opponent running naturally aspirated or forced induction, the reason i ask is because hes awfully quite!

Sarge, that's bizarre. i always thought your truck was silver because of your old profile pic. Come to find out it's AmberFire like mine.

Hahahaa....

I am interested in the box down the center of your cab. Is that just standard particle board and tweed like a standard "stereo" set-up? I have craked the side panel of my console and am thinking of ideas. Although particle board may be kinda heavy for racing interests.

Sarge - I sure wish I coulda been out in the Dunes! I'm gonna try and make it this coming weekend if I can.

Teamhella - The turbo system is a one-off system I built. The black RC is actually supercharged but is still pretty quiet. People at the top end of the track said it sounded like a couple of jets coming their way with just a big hissss sound.

I take it the fiberglass is thrown over a custom form?

I can't go buy that anywhere at a store is what I'm asking....

Might have to find a local fiberglass guy.

You guys should see Duner's intercooler
setup. It's as big as a cigar box , he say's it's
"crude but effective", gets the charge temp
down so low, he can really pump up the boost.
That truck is a real sleeper. Without slicks it
looks like a grocery getter. Hardly any turbo
sound at all. Duner is a real life rocket
scientist.

Not only did you spank his ass off the line, but it looks like he was a little bit ahead of you on the line. Your back in was bouncy goin down the track, or maybe i have bad video quality. What was up with that?

duner, are you running drag shocks? when you pulled the front sway bar, did it help any?

also, are you using a SS/roe controller for your injectors, or does the pcm trim it enough by itself?

Chipster - More like a MAD Scientist! hahaha

Chris - All that bouncy stuff would have been me shifting! I'm "granny" shifting every gear so the truck squats each time the clutch is let out and power re-applied. The truck initially squats when I release the clutch - and then it squats again when the tires bite! hahaha (1st three gears anyway)

Eric - I'm not running drag shocks right now - but they would probably help me a bunch! Pulling the front sway bar and loosening up the front shocks helped my truck by about a full tenth in the 60' time when I did it last march at the Southwest Shootout. I didn't do it this time at the track and I wish I would have! I plan on upgrading the suspension for my future trips to the track. I'm not using the SS/Roe controller right now with my 24# injectors. The PCM trims them just fine at idle and in closed loop. The Vortech FMU handles the fuel just fine when under boost.

Thanks Drew and Waltherone!

There were about 30 Dakotas in attendance for this event and most of them were R/Ts. Unfortunately they pulled the trucks out on the track based upon which bracket you were in, so I didn't get a chance to race many of them. I had a GREAT time with all my buddies the whole weekend..... Hooters will probably never be the same! LOL

Akaproph - As far as the turbo system..... I was trying to scare up interest in building some kits a while ago, but the $4000 price tag scared everyone off.
