Hello everyone. I have completed a few of the mods that I have seen posted on here and thought I would let you know. First I put a edelbrock 10" breather on my 2000 3.9 V-6(can't swing the K&N yet) and it seems to have help a lot. Next I relocated the IAT sensor into the intake tube. Then I installed the autolite 3923 plugs. When I changed the oil I used a full synthetic oil. these minor mods have certainly added some HP because it is running 100 % better, much better performance. Soon I will install bigger plug wires and a quality cap & rotor and a flowmaster exhaust. This should complete most of the easy stuff. I hope to get the PCM flash sometime in the future. Thanks for this board and for all your help. Dirkota

I have been toying with this suggestion, but frankly am scared to mess with the carburetor. Where is some good info on how to do it? Maybe if I read how to do it, it will quell these fears. Are they expensive? Thanks for the tip.

Dirkota,

I tried pasting the F&B instruction PDF but it didn't work (11 pages). Changing the TB was pretty easy. Throttle cable & transmission cable. unplug sensors, vacuum line, four bolts & remove TB from manifold, remove TPS,IAC & MAP sensors. Install new gasket. And reverse order. That's it in a nut shell. TB is not a carb. essentially, TB monitors air & throttle position. I'm sure I left out some small details. The TB was my greatest improvements but all my mods play together.

Speedtweaks.net has some info. I think right now Speedtweaks have been experiencing some difficulties but you could check the links. Check some of the threads on this site. Bernd (speedtweaks) is a great source of info. If you decide to purchase from him, make sure his business is running smoother. (I like to contact him by phone if possible.) Good luck.
