Well, you guys prob. wondering if I raced that Yamaha and the answer is, Ya Right!!...Seriously though, i was just got approved for some serious cash and i was going to purchase a used 99' R1(sport bike)...now after reading how the R/T can establish itself as a fast muscle truck, maybe i should just put that dough into my ride...of course mostly into the motor...LoL...i was looking at KRCs web page and found there Lightning killer package...they said it could be combined with a blower(sweet)..thats something i would be interested in..my truck has low miles and in great shape(other than the tires)..motor is stronge...tranney as well...i figured i should have a enough to cover this plus extras if and i know needed..and the labor is on me..Rather do it myself...get more involved with my truck that away...does this sound realistsic or could i do it for cheaper??...either way, i'm going to have something fast next summer...alll my friends are gear heads with old rides(montes, darts, roadrunners,ect)...they give me crap about my pickem' up truck..hey i tell them its a MOPAR...just in sheeps clothing...i just like to back that up when the time comes...i have learnt a lot from you guys over the past few months and a thankyou for your insight...this is my first Mopar so i'm new to this breed...had a little bit of everthing..this truck by far is the best ride i have owned and i just want to make her run with the rest of the crew(camaros, mustangs, lightnings)...you get the pic..

The lightning killer package from KRC will put your r/t into the low 14 to high 13 sec range. And throw a blower on top of that and you'll be pulling low 13s to high 12's.

Being a "motorcycle guy" before I bought my RT, I can say this. You can ALWAYS go faster on a motorcycle for less $$.
My R/T sees very little of my "disposable" income. On the other hand I spent over $12k last year on motorcycle parts, racing entry fees, and other motorcycle related costs.
I get a kick out of driving the R/T every so often, but Im not delusional that it will be a 10sec truck without some serious investment.
My bikes on the other hand, go 10s all day with absolutely no effort. I can run consistant 9sec 1/4s on a motorcycle with pump gas, 58" wheelbase and have 148mph trap speeds. Then I can ride home...lol.
My warranty is up this year on the Dak. I will do some motorwork and some kind of forced induction. Looking for 450hp at the tires.

Your money will go further with a bike than a truck. And you may meet some interesting people in the process.

ya i hear ya there..i use to own a R6 with mild bolt ons...and i loved it...if you want cheap speed, buy a bike...i sold it because i wanted to move up to an R1, but i waited to find the one i want..not too crazy about the new ones..in the process found my R/T the price was right so i bought it...i guess i just got bit by the dakota bug, after seeing what these trucks are capable of doing...i was hooked and put the R1 on the back burner...now my finances are in order i can purchase that bike, but oh my, i sure would love my dak to be running with the big dogs..i watch vids on net of R/Ts pullin off 13,12, hell even 11 sec runs and still are able to take a nice drive through the country..maybe i'll think about it some more...i have a habit of rushing into things...hell maybe i just go down to the local kwik trip and buy me a powerball...then i can win millions and then have the best of both worlds...

peace out..

I have a 2001 champ edition R1, it's sweet as hell. I am looking into an RT CC though and selling my R1. I have my first child coming along so I figure why invite an accident, this may encourage you but hopefully not .. I find myself going 100+ on my R1 in 45 zones, it's too easy to move fast on them. Simply roll on the throtle and the front tire comes up in 1st 2nd or 3rd gear.
My choice to get the R/T CC is because I want something functional yet fast and fun to upgrade.

I'd keep the truck, you'll eiter wreck horribly or not treat the R1 with proper respect in 2 years. Allstate wont even insure an R1 because they show a 49% total loss rate, Take that for what it's worth bro. If you do get a bike, invest in leathers and helmet .. I ride alpine star dyno's with an arai okada, best buy ever .. always get GOOD QUALITY safety gear before performance mods.
