you guys really suck....
i AM one of the leeches. i visit the speetweaks site at least 2 times a week, but ive never bought anything. bernd is one of if not THE most intelligent guys on this board, and i listen to what he has to say...he has helped me out of several jams that if i called summit with their 25 'customer service' reps, they would laugh at me..altough it is rather ignorant of me to respond when i havent researched the problem, i think all naysayers should show a little compassion. call summit and ask for an iat adjuster. they will laugh until the sun comes up. pricks. yea, i understand that a 2x turbo setup is VERY cool, but i wouldnt get one...too many possible problems as much as far too much money...it is very cool though. however, that probably took a TON of hours to design, test, and build...yea, they couldve done things differently, but such is life. maybe instead of bitching constantly, you should ask the small company if there is anything you can do to HELP.
bernd, aside from me buying parts with money i dont have, (recently fired) lemme know if you need a hand...ill respond to some emails for ya!!

There is a speedtweaks Post in Members Only General Section. I would like to see responses there. I see a lot here in the General 'leech' section. Now let's see some there. If you can't post in the 'Members only General Section', Then it's not a legitimate gripe. It will be considered ramblings of a fool, and therefor treated as such.

Sorry man, but that is just an a$$inine response. Because I don't want to pay the extorsion like rates this club charges to see the "members only" responses, then I am a "leech". If the membership was a reasonable price I would join, even though I don't own a dakota (I figure a Durango is close enough though since they share everything but a body). As far as Speedtweaks goes, from what I have "gleaned" off of this site for the past year, he may be a swell guy who knows his sh$t, but as far as running a business, the guy ranks right up there with the CEO of Enron. This type of complaining does not just come out of the blue. AND, maybe if you would quit calling him and taking up his time with your bullsh$t when you have no intent to buy anything, he would have time to run a business. It is probably guys like you that have forced him to turn the ringer off on his phone. Talk about a leech, look in the mirror.

The original post from John at Intense Performance came from the Durango Club website, which does require registered users to post, so it did come from the horse's mouth.
As for the members only discussion I'll leave it as a double-edged sword... I think the $30 membership fee is a bit steep (even my Dakota R/T Club membership which gives more discounts, national meets, merchandise items, etc. is cheaper at $20), but there are a bunch of trolls that frequent the boards all too often. Maybe this board should force everyone to register with a password and e-mail in order to post, and make membership offer something more than a snapshot?

I know Bruce personally and know that he indeed has gotten screwed by Speedtweaks in the from of no payment for a lot of TB's shipped. Not just one or two, but a lot. Fastman has also dropped Speedtweaks as a distributor. That's the reason Bernd started selling the APS TBs, because he coudln't get any others to sell, and yet he still advertised them on his site and still accepted money for them even though his supply has been cut off for a couple months. The only people I know that have had good service from SpeedTweaks are those who live close enough to actually drop by his shop from time to time. You get more than 500 miles away and the service gets bad.

Well, I am a *member* which has a beef with speedtweaks. Ordered product Sept 10. Last email from Bernd was Sept 25 stating it was on back order and that I would have it no later than Sept 30. I have emailed them several times since then, since others report they apparently don't answer their phones, and have heard nothing back. No responses from them for a month. I think you can consider that being ignored.
Speedtweaks will probably not get my bu$ine$$ again.

My order at SpeedTweaks had a few bumps. I wasn't too terribly impressed with their effeciency. They are great guys who know their stuff, but man does it take a while. Once I found there was a problem and they got my email, the situation was fixed immediately. I have however, ordered a lot of stuff (entire Hotchkis suspension, zaino, exhaust, valence, hood, misc. OEM parts) from Jonas and Randy without any problems.

I would also like to add that I have had nothing but positive service and products from Jonas at Premier Automotive. This is the same scenario, small guy with great service and product grows his business from sites like this, HOWEVER, Jonas cares about customer satisfaction and is constantly trying to get new products for our rides and work deals to get them to us at bargain prices. Sounds like a good lesson for Speedtweaks to learn from.

You may think it is 'a$$inine', but most of the posts up till I posted up above were from anonymous people. I don't want any one to 'Pay the Extortion Like Rates' just to post about poor service, but at least give your complaint some legitimacy with a real post name. I believe in a well-informed buying public, and if there is a problem, I and every other consumer here would like to know about it.
I now see posts from names I do recognize, such as SinCity R/T, HSKR, and DD.com members. The previous posts by billyw?, very concerned, i told you so, me again, concerned, snow job, BS, give no legitimacy to there complaint. If I have a problem with some one, I'm not afraid to reach down and secure the fact that I have a pair and put my REAL NAME to it. If there is a problem I will be glad to inform everyone with my real name to add legitimacy to the complaint. Do you see what I'm pointing out here? If the statements are true then there is no fear of retribution for posting under a real name.

I think Speedtweaks have a great site with lots of tips&tricks. As I inquired per email about a supercharger (lots of $$$) they responded real fast and competetent.
However, when I wanted to order some less expensive stuff (cap&rotor, plugs and the likes) for export, several emails went unanswered... They could have at least said that they were not interested in selling the stuff to me.
Anyway, I got most of the parts from other sources in the meantime.

Obviosly speedtweaks was a dream that someone tried to carry out and they failed because there isnt a large demand for Dakota parts and if you cant even get your orders out you're f'ed. thats why e commerce can make or break you.
I wonder why Bernd choose to make his sole preopeitorship a limited liability company, cause he was smart! lol

And it's not like Jonas isn't a busy guy. He goes to school throughout the day. He works really odd hours to get things done.
I think it was their turbo project that's making them slow. They put so much effort towards their turbo when they have little time as it is. So much time spent in making these turbos a high dollar top selling item. What about the regualr stuffs? I think it all started when they took up the turbo project, but that might just be me.

Your point is well taken on the posting by people without having the cahoonas to share their real name. I agree, and if you notice, I am using my real name and think I have a very good reputation on the DOC forum (of which I am a paying club member). I do see a ton of immature posts on this site that we don't see on the Durango forum, but I think that is due to age of owners (dak vs. D's). I did not mean to come off hostile, just took it personal thinking you meant that just because all of us don't want to pay the high price of membership, then our input is bogus.

I have ordered parts from SpeedTweaks before and got good service. But haven't taken my business back there do to some of the posts on the RTML. I also noticed this all pretty much started with the R/T2 turbo project. But there were reports of bad service before as well. Like I posted before, it seems that if you live far enough away he doesn't have to worry about you dropping by the shop then he don't worry as much about getting the products shipped, or replying to emails. I understand he is a busy man and if he wants to do a lot of the labor, then maybe he should hire a manager for his shop to run the business side of things. He might be a great guy and know a lot of technical stuff about Dakota's, but he sucks as a businesman.

I used to read these posts alot, but I hav'nt recently because of all this gripping. If someone here likes to complain everyone jumps on them. Paying to post should not make a difference on if your complaining or praising something.
I dont know if any of you have ever looked at a Mustang forum but it is very different. If someone complains either they listen or just dont repsond. The same with compliments on something. All you people do here is complain about something and will not leave it alone. That is why I wont pay money for this site because it is full of crap and you really dont learn anything here. All that people seem to care about here is complaining and talking over and over again about exhaust, tb's, and the stupid IAT adjustor. Maybe thats why stangs run 8's with slicks and a blower and most dak owners just worry about if they can hit the 13's with a tb and headers! Makes you think! I look for info. so I can get my truck into the low 11 or high 10's. There is nothing on this site that will ever get me there because of all the crap.
I am a proud owner of a 1999 Dakota R/T and would not trade it for the world but you people are here are ridiculous.
So what I am saying is yea obviously speedtweaks is having problems. Lets just leave them alone and see what they will do. If they really care then they will respond. And if nothing is said then just stay away from them and go somewhere else.
P.S. Yates- if you are so worried about who has paid and who has not then maybe you should start your own site for people who just pay to talk. Im sorry but I believe in freedom of speech. And are you affraid that because people dont pay then they lie. I dont pay and never will but if enough tell the same story then is has to be somewhat true. Doesnt it?

Hey, I am one who has waited for months for my $400 dollars to be credited back to my account for a return that was done well within the for-written 30 day period. It has literaly been about a half a year. How much more frustrating can a situation get? What kind of business can afford to run this way? The answer is that NO business can, for the consumer will put them under! Getting a hold of them is like getting in touch with Osam bin laden, these dudes are probably sitting on top of some money in some cave in the middle of Texas. I have a right to gripe, and this post is not my .02 cents worth, but my $400.00 bucks worth!!

I placed an order back in September and like everyone else on here who is complaining, I have yet to see or hear anything about my order. I have made numerous phone calls and e-mails, and have received ZERO replys. This was my first order and will be my last to Speedtweaks. I wish I had checked this board earlier to learn about Speedtweaks shotty reputation. Every time I call I get the voicemail box just to hear that the mailbox is full. Do they every check this?!?! ALL I WANT IS TO MAKE MY TRUCK GO FASTER!!!

I guess you don't have a valid opinion if you're not a member of this prestigious website... at least thats the case according to some of you. You people need to realize, that your good buddy Bernd may offer good advice once in a blue moon, but his business ethics are as pathetic as his 14.55 second blower/nitrous truck (not to mention Tom Slick's awesome 15.90s in a V8 Gen II). I've met the guy at Houston before, he even bummed a cigarette from my friend in the staging lanes (what a guy), and I don't have a problem with him personally, but his business actions are unlAWFUL. So all of you noble "members" can let go of Bernd's "member" because I think the State of Texas is looking for him.

Why don't you go buy a turbo from your daddy Bernd for your nutless vw killer. Hey, maybe you'll get some of that good advice while you're there too!
