I have a 2000 cc 4x4 3.6L that is totally stock. Looking into starting to add a few basic mods like cold air and ignition. Im getting ready to change the plugs and curious if the 3923s is what I should get. I have read that some have lost fuel milage due to using stock ignition. Just curious what would be the best number plug to at least keep the same or raise mpg.

Any suggestions on some good mail order house or online vendor of typical maintenance stuff(mobil 1 filters, air filters, oil) other than Summit or Jegs?

Also if anyone has any good starts with some mods that wont drastically set back mpg as Im not looking for 1/4 times. I have a mustang for that. Im looking to increase acceleration and help with my 100mile trek to work everyday.

Thanks for all your help

Big Mike

The 3923s are good plugs for our engines, I had no problems with mileage. An air intake is a good idea too, but one of the best mods that I did for the money was a bigger (V8) throttle body. It lets our engines take in more air, and you'll notice a big difference in response.

The biggest boost in both horsepower and fuel economy for a V-6 will come from getting rid of that horsepower eating factory clutch fan and replacing it with an electric one or go with a pulley underdrive (you can also do both).

Lubes, Oil and Air Filters - I only use Amsoil products and their products do make a big difference in performance and fuel economy.

Ignition - Bosch or Autolites and an MSD Ignition system.

These are the starter mods and the ones that are the least expensive.
