Sweet Ass fellas, thanks for the info and websites to check out. I have been pondering about the Kennie Bell SC setup. Mark my words guys, no damn Ford, I don't care if it is lightening or the new superduper "Thunderbolt", is going to put me in my place.

Kota, I'm planning on ocasionally taking it to the track and on being a street monster. I'm going to add headers, M1-2bbl manifold, 180 thermo, and a cat back exhaust. I've read up that most of these SC like stock or are made for stock settings. What would be the better way of looking at it, moddifying up or just slappin' on a SC?

I'm running 24# injectors, and yes it does run a little rich. I am still running with the stock head gaskets with 9# boost, and they have been fine. I do have the timing advanced a bit.

slammindak, that is correct. all blowers are designed for a stock engine (i dont know who put a blower on a stock engine and leaves it that way). you can go either way. once you add mods to a blown truck, it will really start making power. remember though, when adding mods like headers, intake, heads, ect... it will make the engine run more lean, so you will either have to add a little more fuel, or pull more timing to keep it from detonating.

cruznlow, do you have a mopar pcm? what device did you use to advance the timing?... what other mods do you have?

Injection is nice, but i'd rather be blown.

kota, sorry if this is a dumb question but, when you mention adding more fuel, do you mean bigger injectors? Can the pcm be flashed to adjust the a/f ratio? For example, if I put on some heads or a cam, could I send my pcm to KB and have them re-flash it to meet the mods made. Thanx.

j, you can send the pcm to mike leach (the only one who does blower flashes) and he will flash it for $600-650. the only problem is, if it is a little off (still too lean or rich), you will have to send it back to him, so he can correct the problem. this makes for a lot of down time.

another option is, but bigger injectors. it might run rich on the bottom, and if so, you can buy a rowe controller to tune it. both cost about the same (injectors are about $200, and the row is $450 at krc, and it comes with a A/F guage)
if you go this rought, the best place to tune it, is the dyno.

BUT if you are running a vortech or paxton, wich are the only ones running injectors in the airhat (yes i know the KB does too, but im not going to get into that mess), you can just change the two of them out, and it should cure the problem with a LOT less cost.

J, i just realized you have the 4.7 with the kenny bell.

the KB for the 4.7 i hear is pretty good. if it has the injectors in the airhat, you could probably just change them out for bigger ones. if you are going with the HO cam and heads, they might not need bigger injectors, because they are not REALLY BIG. (like putting a 2.02 head on a 360)

anyway, talk to duner. he has a way differant setup then you, but way more informative than me when it comes to the 4.7. (or pretty much anything for that matter)

Yeah, the KB is working well for me. Only problem is some pinging under heavy loads. Putting on a water/alcohol injection system now. Gonna put in some colder plugs too. Maybe I'll be able to run more boost. But from what I've read here, the KB is less adaptable to other mods than some of the centrifugals. I thought about the HO cams, but I don't want to screw things up.
Whenever I try to talk to the KB tech guys they just tell me to leave it alone. The supercharger is awesome but the tech help... they don't really seem to want to talk about it.

i know (heard) the tuning on the 5.2/5.9 kits are horrible. they seem to got it right with the 4.7 kits. the water/alky injection will work good, and switching to a colder plug will help too.

you might want to try a 70, or 72mm tb. if you dont have a 180 T-stat, you might want so buy one.

i hear a guy by the name of victor at KB is the only guy who is willing to help. good luck
