I was wondering if anybody else on the boards has a problem with traction while driving your Dak in the rain. I have a 97 Dak sport CC 4x4 with the V6. It has the limited slip rear with a 3.92 ratio. When I drive during the rain storms it seems like no matter how easy I am on the trottle the rear wheels just spin. Is there anything that I can do to increase traction and make the wheels "stick" better to the road.

I have a 99 CC 4x4 with the V8, and sometimes i simply go nowhere fast in the rain. I just think it's cause of all the torque and lack of weight over the rear wheels.

I live in Oregon and have a topper on the back of my truck. Not only does it protect my stuff from the rain all winter, but the added weight really helps in traction. Gotta love having too much power as a problem!! LOL

Yep my 2000 is the same. I one leg it no matter how easy I am on the gas. I already ruined on pass side rear tire and on my way to the second. I just installed a roll n lock cover and the extra hundred pounds seem to help alittle.

new tires
I just switch from my stock 15 x6 rims for R/T I put Dunlop Sport Rover GTX Tires on the rear they have a very aggressive tread. I have not had the spinning problems I used to with my old rims

I have to say, between my tires, the fact that a QC is heavier, and all the stuff I keep in the bed of my truck (logging chains, high-lift jack, tool box, ect) I've never had any traction problems on wet roads. Pulling 2.5 tons of trailer and wet mulch on wet ground has resulted in several mud fountains though :)

When it rains I go really slow and just barely touch the throttle. I have put in the Dodge limited slip and if it starts spinning letting up on the gas doesn't help, it actually continues to slide sideways after the engine is going slower than the vehicle. If this happens a quick stab of the clutch is the only saving grace. And I don't think I can put enough weight in the back to help it. I've done this with as much as 600 #'s in the bed.
