Just checked SPX/MILLER tool sales for the new recently released to the public Chrysler DRBIII scan tool the dealer uses. There a mere $6053.75 plus shipping and tax.
That's like 2 supercharger kits!
What a Joke!

The DRBIII has just about seen its demise. It will be replaced by next fall with a new tool (DRBIV??). It will resemble a laptop computer but it will not be a flip screen due to the wear factor. You will be able to check TSB's etc. while in the vehicle on a testdrive.

IF the Miller scan tool is anything like GM Tec II it is only as good as the latest updates and memory cartridges. You realy have to have access to the updates to make it worth the cost. Companys like Vitronix will sellyou the updates for something in the neighborhood of $500.00 a pop. It can get expensive real fast if you do not have the need for that much capability. You can reflash a GM PCM with the Tec II. Their are more user friendly and updateable systems out their. You realy want one that is compatiable with the 4 protocol, has genric and propitary codes, user updateable, and can be used to collet other data with aux. sensors and do real time data logging. Their are some nice pieces of software that will work with any lap top. If you cell phone has Java scripting you can buy the software and communication cable to allow you to read all generic and some propitary OBDII codes with your cell phone. You hook the cable into the data port on your cell phone then read the codes on your screen. A guy at work is tinking about this just for the novelty of it!!!

The new chrysler scan tool will not include the PEP modual with the lab scope or the pressure tester. I have yet to see the new one though.
