Compared to all the other Dakotas made in the 90's with a V8, how does a 1993 Dakota CC 5.2 V8 with a 3.55 gear rate??? Also, what are the specs on the 93 5.2L V8 (0-60, HP, Torque,etc.).

The power was rated 230 hp and 300 lb ft of tq. i have a 92 reg. cab. I bought it used about 4 years ago and it had a flowmaster and the mp pcm. I added a drop in k&n air filter and it ran 9.50's in the 1/8 at 73-74 mph. Get the computer first it is a must dodge claims 25 hp I have seen dyno sheets that showed that to be true. For headers the mpp ones are good but on a stock 318 you might lose some low end. I have the summit headers they were cheap. And they are actually made by flowtech. Personally I don't recommend them but if money is tight they will work. I think I paid 159+ shipping for mine. 92-93 has the good fuel system with the return line and the regulator on the fuel rail. If the truck doesn't have a bunch of miles and has been taken care of it should run good against other years. I just put in a 360 out of a wrecked 2001 R/T. My 318 had 150,000 hard miles on it. It still ran decent and didn't use any oil. I could tell that it was getting tired. I have a set of 4.10's I would be willing to part with they have 25,000 miles on them and were quiet when they came out. I have some other parts as well. Sorry about the long post. Hope this helps.

My chilton say:

90-91: 170@4000/260@2000
92-93: 230@4800/280@3200
94-96: 220@4400/300@3200 For 89-96 issue
97+: 230@4400/300@3200 from 4wheeler magazine

The reason for the higher HP and lower TQ than the 94-96 is that our exhaust manifolds have larger I.D.

Never could find an answer to the 0-60 question.

They say that it is among the fastest.(93, 94-96 5spd, 4.7 5spd. and 5.9 r/t)

Doug thorley/ mopar performance tri-y headers for the street most torque through out power band. For completely new exhaust especially racing I'd go with hooker super comps headers. The tri-y's are the best that will bolt up to stock exhaust location. As for the cat back the dynomax and magnaflow which sounds alike have the best feadback. A magazine article I have does say that the mopar performance cpu adds 24HP/25tq to the 5.2l. The power increase is between 1600-5200rpms and requires 92+ octane gas. The computer doesn't work well with forced induction, just a consideration if you think you might want that later on. If you think you would keep the stock cpu and pay the extra 100 for the perf. one so you have both. Other mods that I would do is a cam with 1.6 roller rockers if you want a lot more hp. If you want to keep max power below 5200rpms keep the stock cam or a small aftermarket and get 1.7 roller rockers. The 1.7's are good for 20-25hp and adds the most TQ.
A lot of people get a larger throttle body and like it. If your crazy like me just save up for a supercharger and you'll get an extra 75-90+ horses and between 65-110ft-lbs. of torque, best full time bang for the buck. I'm still up in the air on what I want to do but I'm still looking.

Check out www.krcperformance.com they have alot of stuff and lets you know what it'll do for you.
