I didnt race the guy, but his STOCK, yes
STOCK 02 4.0 ranger extended cab was
running 9.6's last night....I was fcking
impressed. I talked to him and all he did was
put a flowmaster muffler on it. I am still in
shock that a POS 4.0 is faster than my dakota.
and yes, I did look under the hood, no NOS,
nothing.

1st month I had my truck ( 99 RC R/T ) I was giving someone a ride and me and a Ranger Splash were at a light. Dont know if he had stuff on it but I lost. Not by much , but I was bent.

He had to have done something to it , it's a 3,800# truck and needs 250-260hp to run 9.6's. My Dad has an '01 Ranger 4.0/5 speed / 3.73 trac lok and it runs 10.40's@65mph.

I'm gonna have to wave the BS flag on that truck bein all stock. Therez stock R/T's barely breaking 10's in the 1/8th let alone a 6er getting mid 9's. Hell V6 stangs dont even break the 9's and they're lighter & more aerodynamic that that ranger. Did he have a tonneau cover? or an extended cab ranger? Just cuz U looked under the hood and didn't think U saw any selenoids doesnt mean they werent hidden.

I've creamed every ranger I've ever met. I'm running K&N and Gibson Rear Dual... nothing more, and I've yet run into a stock ranger that can match me. Christ.... A Ranger Thunderbolt (SLP's high performance ranger) couldn't even keep me from putting 6 car lengths between us...

lets see.... when i raced my 3.9 V6 truck of camparable weight i hit a 8.95 and consistent 9.2s. But i had all the crap listed bellow and a 100 shot of nitrous. I raced several "stock" ford rangers with all the motor sizes. The closest to me was a 10.78. That was the run that i hit my first 9.2. soooooooo........

Compucar Nitrous-in-a-Bag.....
They have been offering these kits for Mass-Air vehicles for a while. Jets come in HP ranging from 20HP-100HP. The tank sits in a black duffle bag, and the line disappears into the Stock Airbox. Very stealth. A buddy of mine has a "STOCK" SVT Contour running 13's with the kit.
It only cost $399.00... Excellent sleeper mod.
Look for the BLACK bag.
