Subject: head gasket question (V6 Vs V8)

everyone says the V6 gaskets hold up better than the V8's... WHY? the 3.9 has the same bore as the 5.2, and the same number of bolts per cylender and space between the bolts, so why do they hold up better?

Less mass & surface area on the V6 heads ?

I remember reading a thread that Bernd posted a good while back about v6 & v8 head gaskets saying the v6's held up better.

since the 5.2 and 3.9 have the same bore, the surface area is the same on each cylender. i can see why the 5.9 might be prone to blowe them a little easier, because of the bigger bore, but why the 318?

LOL. no my gaskets are fine. i was just thinking about what bernd said about the v6 gaskets VS the v8's and was wondering why they hold up better.

i am getting some 24# injectors, a new airhat, and boost bypass valve. then ill run it. and after i get a 17 sec time slip ill get some slicks ;-)

i hear your bro got some gas to play with ;-) let me know what he runs with it tomorrow (he said he was going to irwindale)

he got a 30 shot of the funny gas...I guess that
equates to a 60 shot because of the S/C...I will
be at school tonight, but if it gets out early, I
might try and catch his last run or so.
