i was tooling around in my home town today and i was at the light. i happen to see a new SVT Lightning tuning across the road turning away from me, so i decided to tail him for some fun(where i live seeing anything with muscle is rare..town full of teenagers driving thier parents ride) anyhow, i caught up to him at the next light and was ready to give him a fight...then as i was piping on him i noticed he had a child with him..he had his window down and was talking smack..i told him maybe another day, but the idiot is not getting it..the light turned green and the moron launched as he thought i was going to race..i just took off slow..what i saw made me sick...i had the smarts just to drop it and this(upstanding parent)is going to race with his kid...I have never raced anyone that i know should not be racing...if we were to run each other and then some old lady not paying attention pulls in front of us, i would not be able to live with myself..what i do with my life is my business, hell i don't even race with people with me, just not worth it...just thought i give my two cents on the subject..

Good call, dak1. If you're gonna do it, do it ALONE. I can't believe someone could be that irresponsible. I have no problem every now and then dropping it a gear and passing someone on the freeway a little harder than normal with my family in the truck-the wife and kids like it (and of course I like hearing "man, this things fast"). But no way am I gonna go racing thru traffic at 90 MPH with them. Some people just don't get it I suppose.

save your racing for the track, by the way i own a lightning and a R/T dak. obviously with that said it is easy to believe that i cant afford to get stopped racing on the street. P.S. YES MY INSURANCE COMPANY LOVES ME (HIGH RISK INSURANCE SUCKS)

So it's OK to race as long as there's no kids in your car, nevermind who might be riding in somebody else's?

I'm glad to see i'm not alone on this one...as i read these forums i can see there is alot of intelligant minds at work...and the choices that are made are smart and thought through...once and awhile you'll get a bad seed, but they are easly looked over...i'm not trying to preach about how dangerous racing is or how to raise your kids, just be nice if people use common sense, and what i witnessed was someone not thinking wisely...so again, thankyou guys for standing behind me...and maybe one day we'll have a chance to line up with one another if your ever down in my part of the woods..
