 Subject: my truck isn't shifting

I own a 2001 R/T and lately when I punch it at about 20mph my truck will hit rev limiter instead of up shifting. I have to let of gas for a sec then it upshifts. This only happens when im going 20mph. What is wrong with my truck? Any help will be great.

It's your Valve body, take it to the dealer. They just fixed my 2001R/T just last week. If you haven't raised or dropped the truck your ok, I have a few mods on my engine and they still went ahead and fixed it. Depends on dealer mostly. They had to drop the pan, replace some springs and did some valve body adjustments and replace some fluid.

I have a somewhat similar problem. I drive a '97 5.2 auto 4X2. When I have the throttle wide-open in 4th gear, it doesn't want to shift to O/D. It will rev past the redline, and past the point where it usually shifts when wide-open. I'll let off the gas for a second then it will shift and I can continue to accelerate. Would this also be the valve body?

It will not shift into O/D at full throttle. It is to protect the trans from the customer. ;)

mine shifts into OD at 98 mph(or 4800 rpms) at full throttle and then wont go any higher(i think) if od off is on it will go up to 5xxx rpms and im not sure what speed it will go to. 112 was the best ive seen. although that may have been with my jet chip. i dunno.
