Subject: HO cams and Optimizer II?
IP: Logged

Message:
Here's a quote from the KB Optimizer II FAQ:

Will my Opt II work with other engine or trans. mods? - Yes, depending on the mods. Cat back exhaust, cool air kits, headers and head porting is OK. Since DC products are "speed density" be careful with things like cams, larger injectors, fuel preasure or any product that mechanically alters fuel delivery or vacuum. According to our tests a 10% HP increase will lean out a Chrysler 8% or around one full air/fuel ratio.

What I want to know is, how should this affect my desire to install the HO cams and get an opt II chip? Would it be bad for the engine? Would I lose power? I know there are a few techs that read these boards, what do you think?

CW - are you saying that I shouldn't have any problem with running both, simply make note on the order form of the lift and duration and everything should be fine? If so that'd be outstanding - between the two it sounds like conservitavely I should be able to get another 40 rwhp and at least 40 ft/lbs of torque.
