 Subject: Air Raid, Intense, Quick D, K&N Gen II

Which is the best bang for the buck on air intake, Don't want to wast unecessary $$$$. I see that intence has a "Quick Cold" upgrade kit, this sounds interesting mated to thier stage II kit. But the web site doesn't indicate my 01 V-6 on the ordering page or the option to add the "Quick Cold" on a new kit purchase. Any Input would be greatly appreciated.
PS.. Im goin for the Quick D V-6 TB Upgrade, price is right .... With A Flowmaster Delta 40 or 50 Not Sure which yet (don't want my filling comin loose while driving) and I don't want the
V-6 to sound rediculus...

Best bang for the buck is K&N Gen II. It contains a bigger airhat which contains the tube all the way to the filter. It's a single-piece of plastic. There is a heat shield that mounts in back of the filter to shield it from engine heat.
QuickD may not be in business anymore.

Thanks Ron.... Tony Is Still around I spoke with him yesterday. Do you know the Part Number For K&N I'm havin a hard time with the listing on my truck.

I also noticed that the Intense has a "Quick Cold" Duct. Wouldn't this be better than the K&N Heat Shield?

I Called K&N .... To date no Generation II Kit is available for the 2000-2001 3.9. They said mabe later in the year.. I guess it'll be Intense Performence for me, with a "Quick Cold" Tube. I will update on the gains.

I'm so dumb, I should read 1st... the Intense Performence "Quick Cold" system is a complete intake system, the filter mounts on the TB hat and the duct gets routed out in front ...duhhhhh.... and for $68 bucks its worth a shot!

Does anyone have recommendations on the best air filtration modification for 3.9 Ram 1500. Increased gas mileage is my main goal. Increased performance is not a priority, but would be nice. I probably don't want to go to the throttle body steps. I didn't see too many sites for performance related to a 3.9 Ram 1500. I guess that's an oxymoron. Anyway, I'm researching a drop in K&N filter, Airaid (is it available for 3.9?), FIPK, or the Quick D. Thanks for any recommendations, especially since this is a Ram.

RICK: I just installed an Airaid on my 2000 3.9 Dakota. Love it.
BIG G: I have a 50 series and it sounds good. Not too loud but loud enough my wife can hear me when I get near our street.

And now...PaceSetter has an Intake System for the V6's as well. I'm trying to pry the P/N# from them as well as a cost.
