OK, if I got a 97 Dakota 5.2 with a chip and exhaust, neither of which do I know any specifics on, what mods should be done in what order?

stick around here and listen for a while before you do anything...
Throttle body (v8), Cold air intake, 180 t'stat...
before you do anything... i'ld look and see what has been done to it other than the chip and exhaust... might have some good things under the hood.

OK, it has a JET chip, Flowmaster dual exhaust (1 cat), K&N air filter (the cone kind that goes to the front passenger side), and I think that is pretty much under the hood, I am pretty sure it doesn't have headers.
