To All:

I'd like to thank many of you for your kindness and understanding while I try to learn more about my new Dakota. I was reading about the flowmetrics TB and noticed the comments about the RPM range.

On my truck I've had dual exhaust put on as well as the K&N intake (eBay) with the long tube. It seems like I have less power but the RPM range is much higher. Could it be possible that I've opened up the breathing too much and am hitting the Rev Limiter? If so, would the sad ol' Jet II chip help? If the PCM can learn the parameters of the Jet Chip, could you simply reset the computer by draining the power and then restart with the Jet Chips Configuration or does the PCM learn too fast?

Thanks again!!

The PCM learns at the same rate of speed no matter what. All the Jet chip does is fool the PCM by altering the input values to it. Unfortunately, the Jet chip is all that's available performance-wise for the PCM. DC has discontinued its line of high performance PCM's for the 4.7's, at least for now.

I don't know what that intake is you got off e-bay but it's not a K&N. K&N's FIPK for the 4.7 won't be out until this Summer. It probably wouldn't hurt to have a custom TB ofr your DAK but I don't believe Bruce (Flometrics) has released it yet. I think it's still in the test stage.
