Hey i just got a hold of a 340ci V8 and the tranny out of a dart that had 50,000 miles. Is it possible to swap this engine in a 99 3.9L v6 ext. 2wd dodge dakota. And would any place do this for a couple or do mechanics not want to touch this?

There is a guy named Ron Merx who drives a bright yellow CC R/T nicknamed "bigbird" that is the fastest R/T that I know of. I think he runs a stroked, supercharged and juiced 340 that runs either high 10's or low 11's.

So to answer your question, yes it can be done.

That truck (Hairy Canary) is in the latest edition of Mopar Muscle magazine. It is a built 360(ported heads, forged 8.5:1 forged pistons etc). A lot of the other bolt ons(M1, headers, etc). Running a vortech sc and NX kit w/a 100hp jet. The truck runs 12.0's per the magazine.

You will have to join the 408 stroker group to watch it but it was a 11.5 run. From what was said on the RTML, he let off at the end because he blew the airhat off of the motor.
